Fairfax County offers two primary Affordable Homeownership Programs which provide low- and moderate-income households with the opportunity to purchase homes at prices well below market rates. Available properties are listed through both the First-Time Homebuyers Program and the Workforce Dwelling Unit Homebuyers Program. Organization Description: Administers the county's affordable housing and community revitalization programs. In addition to its role as a department of Fairfax County government, reporting to the County Executive and the Board of Supervisors, HCD also serves as the staff for the Fairfax County Redevelopment and Housing Authority (FCRHA). The FCRHA is a separate political body whose members are appointed by the Board of Supervisors and which possesses specific powers granted by state code.
